It's fitting that we ended the 2011 tasting calendar with dessert wines.  It was a sweet way to ends a year of great tastings and turnouts and welcome in the holiday season. We had a strong turnout for our Spanish Reds tasting this past Tuesday, where we got to taste some truly remarkable wines from all four corners of Spain. On March 22, we had a small but dedicated group come out to taste some 2004 German Rieslings.  It was a fitting wine to help us say goodbye to winter and welcome in spring (even if the weather outside didn't play along). Here are the rankings for the 2000 Bordeaux we tasted on September 21. Overall, people had a very good impression of these Bordeaux Right Bank wines and the vintage (all from 2004). Our November 2008 wine tasting was a very good showing of the 1997 vintage of Barolos with one exception - one bottle of the Fontafredda was corked. Nevertheless, even those who didn't have a corked wine rated the wine at or near the bottom of their favourites. The greatest consistency in ranking was on that wine. As of 11 PM tonight, there is now only 1 ticket left for our 1997 Barolo tasting. TVC members - well that's 1 member - so wake up, smell the coffee & register or you will miss a great tasting.
